        Join our Macro group in New York The D. E. Shaw group seeks macro analysts to join its Macro group. Technology is integral to virtually everything our firm does, which is why we seek talented individuals who will collaborate on challenging problems that directly impact the firm’s continued success. The Macro group aims to identify market inefficiencies inside and across various asset classes and construct optimal portfolios to maximize utility for our investors.         What you’ll do day-to-day

        You’ll develop and maintain software infrastructure, prototype new web applications, and collaborate with stakeholders to brainstorm enhancements. You’ll provide real-time support for the Macro group’s trading systems and related trading infrastructure, supporting both discretionary and systematic strategies. You’ll discover and troubleshoot production issues and errors from trading system or automated scripts. You’ll design and document operational procedures, and you’ll coordinate with other groups around releases, upgrades, and relevant features.

        Who we’re looking for

        • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field of study is required.
        • Three years of work experience with programming in Python, Perl, C++, or Java; software debugging and troubleshooting; incident response and management, including root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures; UNIX systems; and, probability and statistics.
        • The annual base salary for this position is $200,000 - $225,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes substantial variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, a sign-on bonus, a relocation bonus, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
