Chief Executive Officer, AI-Native Healthcare RCM Platform

        Various
        off-site

The D. E. Shaw group seeks an accomplished and hands-on chief executive officer to lead Cove’s new AI-native healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) platform. Cove, the firm’s buy-and-build private equity strategy, builds and scales category-leading businesses by combining strategic acquisitions, operational rigor, and purpose-built AI to transform how they operate. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead the company from formation through scaled growth, leveraging the firm’s resources in capital formation, M&A, technology, and talent development.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

        • Refine and own the platform’s strategic vision, setting priorities across target specialties, service offerings, customer segments, technology investments, and acquisition criteria.
        • Develop and manage a proprietary acquisition pipeline, building trusted relationships with founder-owners and articulating a compelling, differentiated platform proposition.
        • Oversee the commercial and operational evaluation of acquisition targets, making data-driven decisions about integration and platform fit.
        • Own company-wide P&L and value-creation plan, translating strategy into clear operating plans, KPIs, capital allocation, and accountable execution.
        • Design the organization and operating model, lead post-close integration and value-creation initiatives, and recruit and develop an exceptional leadership team in partnership with the Cove team.

        What we’re looking for

        • Ten or more years of operating experience, including significant leadership as a CEO, president, COO, or divisional general manager with full P&L responsibility and a record of scaling businesses and transforming complex operations through technology, automation, and AI.
        • Experience in the RCM sector is highly preferred, but proven leaders from healthcare technology and services, financial services, business process management, or related tech-enabled services with complex workflows are strongly encouraged to apply.
        • Demonstrated entrepreneurial approach and ability to operate effectively in a formation-stage environment, moving between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
        • Proven track record of evaluating, closing, and integrating acquisitions, with sound judgment on standardization, preservation, and integration pace—ideally in a PE-backed or acquisition-led platform context.
        • Expertise in building and scaling distributed or global service-delivery operations, recruiting top executive talent, and aligning stakeholders around a shared vision, with solid commercial instincts and the ability to credibly partner with technology leaders to drive AI-powered transformation.
        • The expected annual base salary for this position is $300,000 to $400,000, plus an annual performance bonus, meaningful equity participation in NewCo, and comprehensive benefits.

The D. E. Shaw group is an equal opportunity employer.

The applicable annual base salary or hourly rate paid to a successful applicant will be determined based on multiple factors, including without limitation the nature and extent of prior experience and educational background.
