Start-Up Ventures: Growth Manager at Vitruvio

        Venture Studio – Portfolio
        New York

Vitruvio is a tech-enabled financial operations provider for the insurance industry, launching out of the D. E. Shaw group. The company seeks a growth manager to play a central role in driving new customer growth by managing inbound and outbound leads, running introductory calls, and owning early-stage customer conversion through close and onboarding. This is an opportunity to join an early-stage company in a high-impact, outward-facing role. The role is with Vitruvio (not the D. E. Shaw group); as a portfolio company of the D. E. Shaw group’s venture studio, DESCOvery, Vitruvio benefits from the firm’s entrepreneurial expertise and network. Please note that Vitruvio will be reviewing all applications and making hiring decisions independently of the D. E. Shaw group.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

You’ll own early-stage pipeline development and conversion by managing inbound and outbound leads and guiding prospects through the customer journey. In this role, you’ll:

        • Manage and prioritize leads to ensure timely follow-up and engagement.

        • Conduct introductory calls with prospective customers to understand needs, qualify fit, and communicate Vitruvio’s value proposition.

        • Build strong relationships with prospects through a consultative and personable approach and driving client conversion.

        • Coordinate and manage the customer onboarding process after signed engagement letter, ensuring a smooth transition into service delivery.

        • Work closely with internal service delivery and operations teams to align expectations and support a seamless handoff.

        Who we’re looking for

        • At least six years of experience in a client-facing or sales role, ideally within a high-growth environment.
        • Experience working in or closely with insurance agencies, ideally with significant exposure to insurance agency owners and/or finance teams.
        • Experience in accounting, financial operations, or working closely with accounting teams is highly preferred.
        • Excellent communication skills, comfort engaging with senior stakeholders, and the ability to manage multiple leads and conversations simultaneously.
        • Keen organization skills and a personable approach, with the ability to build trust quickly with prospective customers and thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
        • The expected annual base salary for this position is $130,000 to $150,000. There will be additional compensation in the form of earned commissions.

The D. E. Shaw group is an equal opportunity employer.

The applicable annual base salary or hourly rate paid to a successful applicant will be determined based on multiple factors, including without limitation the nature and extent of prior experience and educational background.
