Generative AI Program Manager, GenAI Business Strategy and Transformation

        Professional Services
        New York

The D. E. Shaw group seeks a talented program manager to join its GenAI Business Strategy and Transformation (GAIBiz) team. GAIBiz accelerates GenAI adoption and opportunity identification across the firm by providing a commercial, human-centered perspective that complements technology and markets expertise. This role will drive GenAI initiatives with transparency, speed, and impact, and offers the chance to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, help build the team and function within the company, and foster a culture of innovation and responsible AI adoption in a thoughtful and engaging environment.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

•Enable others to use GAI products and services, by showing what good looks like in how you deliver your work.

•Build and maintain clear, integrated project plans for GenAI initiatives, managing timelines, resources, and cross-functional coordination across the firm.

•Develop and maintain an inventory of GenAI activity, ensuring visibility and alignment with firmwide priorities, while identifying and assessing new opportunities.

•Facilitate essential processes such as GenAI-related approvals, project tracking, reporting, and documentation to keep initiatives progressing effectively.

•Work closely with key stakeholders—including our technical teams, Legal & Compliance, and Information Security—to improve processes and reduce any barriers to GenAI adoption.

•Help ensure that best practices and governance standards are consistently applied across projects.

        Who we’re looking for

        • A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
        • At least eight years of experience in program or project management—ideally within consulting, government agency, or technology-driven environments—and at least two years managing complex, cross-functional projects, including building integrated project plans and coordinating with a variety of stakeholders, ideally in the generative AI space.
        • Experience facilitating approvals, reporting, and documentation processes, with a focus on transparency and responsible execution.
        • Demonstrated experience integrating GenAI into your workflows in a creative and productive way.
        • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. Clear written communication skills are a must.
        • The expected annual base salary for this position is $200,000 to $300,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.

The applicable annual base salary or hourly rate paid to a successful applicant will be determined based on multiple factors, including without limitation the nature and extent of prior experience and educational background.
