The D. E. Shaw group seeks a highly analytical and execution-oriented associate to join Cove, its private equity strategy focused on building and scaling consolidation platforms. As a core member of the team, you’ll play a central role in evaluating acquisition opportunities, executing transactions, and supporting portfolio company growth across Cove’s platforms. This position offers the opportunity to help build a fast-growing strategy at the intersection of private equity investing, operational transformation, and technology-enabled platform development. You’ll gain exposure to senior leadership and take ownership of high-impact initiatives, all within a collaborative and inclusive environment.
You’ll evaluate investment opportunities by conducting financial modeling, market research, and industry analysis to assess potential acquisition targets within Cove’s focus sectors. You’ll support all phases of deal execution, including diligence, valuation, structuring, and closing, and will develop and maintain detailed operating and LBO models to inform investment decisions. You’ll coordinate diligence workstreams with advisors and internal stakeholders, and work closely with management teams and Cove operators to track performance, evaluate growth initiatives, and support integration of acquisitions. Additionally, you’ll monitor industry landscapes to identify trends and consolidation opportunities, and contribute to the development of platform strategies and operational improvement initiatives.
