Executive Committee Members

Louis Salkind, Ph.D.

Lou Salkind is a managing director and a member of the Executive Committee, in which capacity he jointly supervises the firm's worldwide asset management businesses. Dr. Salkind has primary oversight responsibility for the firm's global private market investment activities, and also oversees strategic ventures in India, the firm's information technology group, and the activities of the firm's Chief Operating Officer. He joined the firm soon after it was founded, and during the firm's first decade was responsible for the creation, development, and implementation of many of the firm's quantitative investment strategies. Dr. Salkind received his A.B. from Princeton University, where he studied mathematics and physics, and his Ph.D. from New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, where he studied computer science and robotics.

Anne Dinning, Ph.D.

Anne Dinning is a managing director and a member of the Executive Committee, in which capacity she jointly supervises the firm's worldwide asset management businesses. Dr. Dinning currently oversees the firm's energy, benchmark-relative equities, insurance/reinsurance, and long-short equity strategies. She also serves on the firm's Risk Committee. Dr. Dinning joined the firm in 1990, after receiving a Ph.D. in computer science from New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, where she won the Harold Grad Memorial Prize for Outstanding Ph.D. Candidate. Dr. Dinning was the 2006 recipient of the Industry Leadership Award presented by 100 Women in Hedge Funds, an organization committed to the professional advancement of women in the alternative investment industry.

Max Stone

Max Stone is a managing director and a member of the Executive Committee, in which capacity he jointly supervises the firm's worldwide asset management businesses. Mr. Stone has primary oversight for the firm's discretionary macro trading strategies and he also oversees the activities of the firm's Chief Risk Officer. He also serves on the firm's Risk Committee. Mr. Stone joined the firm in 1992, a year after graduating magna cum laude from Brown University with a degree in psychology.

Julius Gaudio

Julius Gaudio is a managing director and a member of the Executive Committee, in which capacity he jointly supervises the firm's worldwide asset management businesses. Mr. Gaudio is responsible for the firm's global corporate credit, convertible, asset-backed securities, and special situations investment strategies and oversees certain businesses focused on the Asia-Pacific and European regions. He also serves on the firm's Risk Committee. He joined the firm in 1993 after receiving his A.B. in honors economics at Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude, where he was awarded a John Harvard Scholarship for academic distinction, with coursework focusing on international monetary economics.

Eric Wepsic

Eric Wepsic is a managing director and a member of the Executive Committee, in which capacity he jointly supervises the firm's worldwide asset management businesses. Mr. Wepsic is responsible for overseeing much of the firm's systematic alternative investment activities and its global trading technology platform. He also serves on the firm's Risk Committee. Mr. Wepsic joined the firm in 1994 after graduating with an A.B. in mathematics in 1992 and an A.M. in mathematics in 1994, both from Harvard University. He was a two-time winner of the internationally renowned William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Examination, which is an award granted to the top five scorers in this competition, and he was also a gold medalist in the 1987 International Mathematics Olympiad.
